The transport problem

Dragon Eggs weigh 200 units each and you need three for Moder's altar. The weight means no sprinting and portal use is blocked while carrying them. Most players either fight near the nests, portal each egg one at a time to a drop-off near the altar, or build a ship route to the altar.

• +Scout Moder's altar location before collecting any eggs — know the route before the weight becomes a problem.
• +Build a portal pair between your base and a drop-off near the altar before moving eggs.
• +Remove heavy gear temporarily if total weight is near cap while carrying an egg.

How to find Dragon Eggs in Valheim

Dragon Egg nests appear in Mountain biomes near rocky outcroppings and Drake spawn sites. They glow green at night, which makes them easier to spot after dark. Nests usually contain 1–3 eggs. You need exactly 3 to summon Moder.

• +Scout during clear Mountain weather when visibility is highest.
• +Mark each nest before collecting — you cannot carry multiple eggs through portals at once.
• +You can place eggs at the altar in advance and return with the rest on separate trips.

Do Dragon Eggs go through portals in Valheim?

No. Dragon Eggs are portal-blocked like ore. You must physically carry them to Moder's altar. The most practical approach is to build a portal near the altar first, scout nests, then make separate trips carrying one egg at a time to the altar site.
